Florentin Rooftop X DTLA Art Night
Featured Artist
As the featured artist at DTLA Art Night hosted on the beautiful Florentin Rooftop, I had the joy of live painting and connecting with the community through vibrant, miniature abstract works. Each piece was a “love note in color”—a small but powerful gesture of positivity, connection, and shared joy. The night was all about building community through art, filling the space with intention, emotion, and colorful messages meant to uplift and inspire.
“Echo Within”
unfolds as a dance between outward chaos and inner contemplation. Amid a world entangled in conflict, our focus shifts outward, fraying the delicate threads of individual identity. Calls for global peace resonate, yet within, a disquiet remains. We extend care and enlightenment to the collective, yet the echo within us remains unfilled.
In our pursuit of correcting the world, we overlook the crucial inward journey. True healing arises from our core, fostering a fertile ground for positive contributions fueled by self-love and awareness. As we rediscover our essence, we navigate the intricacies of our mental landscape, creating a harmonious symphony within. From this inner wellspring, transformative love radiates onto the world's stage, revealing that the path to a healed world begins within ourselves.
“Flowers”
This collection explores the concept of duality, appreciating beauty, and embracing each moment while being aware of the impermanence of life. It delves into the idea of surrendering to the present, acknowledging that we are constantly aging and moving towards the unknown. It reflects on the struggle to maintain external youthfulness while internally aging, and the need to confront the reality of our mortality.
The collection uses flowers as a metaphor for this duality. Flowers symbolize beauty, happiness, and love, yet they also represent the transient nature of life, as they wither once cut. Despite being part of the life cycle, there is always an uncertainty about what comes next, a fear of change, aging, and death.
It emphasizes the importance of gratitude for the present moment and the blessings we have, such as shelter, employment, and loved ones. It calls for a shift in focus towards living in love, gratitude, and empathy, and for taking action to stop violence and injustice in the world.
